Hard work! Richard Green wins the 10th WINSTONgolf Senior Open Tournament after the longest play-off
Happy Richard Green, who also won the Jersey Legends in June and has felt very much at home at WINSTONgolf, says: “I feel fantastic! Never before have I won twice in one year. The recent past has been hard work, and I put a lot of effort into my game so as to be fit for this tour. Today it was important to stay patient and focused until the very end. Ultimately, it's only patience that counts!”
According to Tournament Director Stefanie Merchel, with a wink of an eye: “For us, that was a fantastic weekend. We had amazing golfing weather for the final day today, which encouraged many spectators to come to our course. Bernhard Langer is naturally our crowd puller here. We would certainly have wished him to be victorious. But Richard Green is a wonderfully likeable winner! And Bernhard must simply come back again for a win at WINSTONgolf!”
Bernhard Langer finished fifth in the Tournament, with 5 under par. Thomas Gögele tied for 8th position, with a total of -3.
